Happiness, gladness or joy is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. A variety of biological, psychological, religious and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources.

This is something that we all long for. It can be achieved many different ways. A lot of times we might think we can only achieve this one way. Whether it be striking it rich, getting the perfect relationship, getting the dream job, obtaining fame etc..

Just take a moment and look into the life of someone who has obtained one of the things I just listed. Have they obtained true happiness? To them the answer might be no, if we were put in their shoes we might think the answer is yes. But would we really be happy?

Often times we find ourself wanting much more. There is nothing wrong with having big dreams but true happiness might be closer than we think. We sell ourself short sometimes and give up. Thinking that we have to live miserable or thinking there is no way out. Sometimes we just need to stop, breathe, take a look around and focus on the small things first. We may surprise ourself and find that true happiness.

I have huge dreams, I always have. My goals have changed over the years and so have my priorities. When it comes down to it, happiness for me was a lot closer than I expected and now it makes perfect sense. It’s much easier chasing a dream when you have the right attitude about things.

Never give up, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something and take a peek around the corner. Hopefully you find something that brings you intense joy!
